New Assistant Dean for Yeshiva College

The search for a new Assistant Dean appears to be over. Dr. Joyce E. Jesionowski, formerly of Adelphi University, has passed through every stage of the interview and selection process and has reportedly been offered the position in the Office of the Dean of Yeshiva College.

Shmuel Bodenheimer

For the second year in a row, former YU student Shmuel Bodenheimer will be the opening act at the annual Chanukah Concert. Joined by current YU students and members of Bodenheimer's band B'Smamim: Avi Moche (YC '99), Elisha Mayer (YC '98), and Ephraim Yablok (YC '98), Bodenheimer will play three songs of his own composition.

Interview with Kurtzer

On October 2, President Clinton nominated Daniel C. Kurtzer to replace Edward Walker as United States Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt. Kurtzer, an alumnus and former Dean of Yeshiva College was later confirmed for that position. The career diplomat has had extensive experience in Middle East affairs. On December 2, Kurtzer was sworn in as the ambassador. He is expected to formally fill the post later this year.
