A Fan of Tamir

To the Editor:

I am a tenth grader at another Orthodox Jewish High School in Baltimore called Beth Tfiloh. Unfortunately, I am one of the last few real Tamir fans in my class. I have been hearing many of my friends tell me that the fact that he is exploiting himself as not a basketball player but a Jew is not "Al Kiddush Hashem." I have read numerous student articles that complain about his arrogance and his love for fame and not the game. I was interested in reading Josh Abraham's opinion, and I found it very pleasing. I am not sure if Tamir has a whole lot of potential for anything more than Division I basketball, but what I do know is that under the jersey and #22 is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He is still a celebrity all over the world and the fact the YU feels the same way I do means a lot. I am going to show this article to all of my friends. Thank you for being positive.
