Chanukah Concert to Be Held

by Commentator Staff

Chanukah at Yeshiva University is never complete without the big event students look forward to with eager anticipation - the annual Chanukah concert. This year's Chanukah Concert Extravaganza promises to be the best one to date.

Produced by the respective Student Councils of YC and SCW, the concert is scheduled to take place this Thursday, the fifth light of Chanukah in Lamport Auditorium. Featuring Jewish music superstar Avraham Fried and rising stars Shloime Dachs, Yisroel Williger and Mendy Wald in a new act called "Yachad," the entertaining lineup has student afficionados of Chassidic music salivating. Fried brings his tried and proven road show to the Uptown campus with years of solid hits under his belt, and he will undoubtedly favor the crowd with his dazzling repertoire.

Yachad is the synergistic creation of Yerachmiel Begun, of Miami Boys Choir fame. Dachs, Williger, and Wald, each already established in their individual careers, will sing together, as well as performing several solo renditions of their latest hits. The singers will be accompanied by members of the renowned Neshoma Orchestra, who are making their second YU appearance in one week, after playing the SOY Chanukah chagigah.

As always, the Chanukah concert will be one event not to miss, both for its exhilarating entertainment and the intense social scene, always a popular draw.
