University Pays Commentator in Censorship CaseAs reported in The New York Times, US News and World Report, and other international media, the Yeshiva University administration last week paid the governing board of The Commentator $1,850.00 for newspapers allegedly confiscated by members of Facilities Management at the directive of high-level University administrators. State Board Member Questions Removal of Yeshiva Papers
On Tuesday, December 21, the Yeshiva administration received a letter from Harold Levy, one of fourteen members of the New York State Board of Regents, asking that the university explain its reported silencing of student publications. The New York Board of Regents is the state entity responsible for chartering all colleges within New York. Full Story
