Stay Home, Bibi

Dear Editor:

I imagine that as I am writing this letter, an article is being written for the next copy of The Commentator about the visit of Bibi Netanyahu . As a recent graduate of Yeshiva, I was allowed to hear Bibi speak, and I would like to say that I was bothered by my own very late reaction. When Bibi ended his speech, I kicked myself for not standing up and saying "That's it? That's all you have to say? You have the future leaders of the Jewish world sitting right in front of you, and that is all that you have to say?"

I was appalled by the fact that our Yeshiva invited him to speak, and he chose to stand in front of a crowd of more than one thousand young men and women and proceed to give nothing more than an empty pep-talk. Is this what the leadership of the Jewish community has become? Just an empty shell of nice thoughts of hope. Are our future leaders so ignorant as to believe that due to the age of information the age-old mantra of "Esav Soneh Yaakov" will fall aside? All of a sudden the Arab people will become educated and no longer hate the Jew and live happily in a "Jewish" State. I would just like to know how such a great man can stand in front of so many educated Jews and speak so condescendingly, trying to convince them that the hatred in Israel will be over if we just give the Arabs more access to information.

Thank you for your time,
