Third Annual YCSC Bowling Tourney

On March 4, 2001, students from RIETS, YC, and SSSB converged on Ball Park Lanes in the Bronx for the 3rd Annual YCSC Bowling Tournament. Answering the call of "Free Bowling and no girls," bowlers assembled to capture the coveted title of Yeshiva bowling champion.

Despite the inclement weather plaguing the New York region, more than one hundred students attended the event that evening. The promise of "Free T-shirts and Free Pizza" gave many the "Courage to Bowl and Be Orthodox." The tournament was organized with teams of four bowlers each. Each bowler rolled three games, and the total team score was tallied to determine a winner. By the end of the night, Josh Hess from Los Angeles had knocked down 524 pins and walked away with the prize for individual bowling performance. For his feat, Hess earned himself a brand new bowling ball and bag. Dani Roth (Chicago), Asaf Rabinowitz (Pittsburgh), Aryeh Goldberg (Chicago), and Joshua David Sisser (New York) were victorious in the team competition. They knocked down a combined total of 1,857 pins and took home trophies in recognition of their accomplishment. When asked how he felt after the victory, Rabinowitz remarked, "It was exhilarating, I hadn't been that excited since I went to Paramus." The event was sponsored by the Yeshiva College Student Council, The Office of the Dean of Students, and the Department of Physical Education and Athletics.
