![]() Stern Graduate Talmud Program: Year 2 Alex Altberg Orientation 2000 To new students coming straight from high school or after spending some time in Israel, the first few weeks as a Yeshiva undergraduate can feel quite overwhelming. Freshmen beginning college have a whole new routine to get used to. Aside from the academic changes and the administrative systems they must learn to navigate, incoming students find themselves thrust into a new social atmosphere, leaving a lot of old friends behind and encountering many new ones. Every year a Student Orientation Committee organizes events to help ease the transition to life at Yeshiva. This year's committee was led by Yeshiva College Student Council Secretary Jason Koslowe, and YC Senior Yaakov Green, who worked closely with their Stern College counterparts, and both schools' student councils. Aside from introductions to the academic facets of our top-tier university, the committee designed social events aimed at helping students acclimate to their new environment and relieve some of the stresses associated with starting college. |
