One week before Succos vacation, a Yeshiva student - in the company of two friends - was shot while in the Raoul Wallenberg Park on Amsterdam Avenue between 188th and 190th Streets, adjacent to University housing. Complicated circumstances and an incomplete investigation led to the dismissal of one of the victim’s friends from Yeshiva University....

On Thursday, October 18th, a Yeshiva student was stabbed multiple times en route to a birthday party just beyond the northern edge of the Uptown Campus. The knifing, which occurred at the entrance to an apartment building located on the corner of 189th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, home to many Yeshiva undergraduates, was the first such assault on a Yeshiva student in the locale in recent history....

MIS Wrongly Accuses Undergrad of Piracy

On Wednesday October 17th, Yeshiva’s MIS Department officially suspended Sy Syms senior Jon Ackerman’s Resnet network connection, in response to a Sony Music Corporation letter to Yeshiva officials informing them that a network-user had violated intellectual property law by pirating software. Although the memo divulged no specific name, it contained an IP address....

Mrs. Judas Retires After Seventeen Years

Mrs. Adele Judas stated the exact date on which she began working for Yeshiva University, without hesitation. "June 11, 1984," she provided easily, as though she were recalling a cherished occasion, perhaps an anniversary or a birthday. In the seventeen years since that clearly memorable day, Mrs. Judas’ presence in Yeshiva’s Housing Office has been a pleasant given for all Yeshiva students privileged to have met her....
