Vulnerable viscera revealed yet,
he stands proud, intact.
Tough elastic skin,
like the rubber band that held flowers
he picked me, protects
sentiments he sends me.
Novelty giftedly gleaming,
carries the stench of decay.
His rotted past
does not make him cringe.
Wearily, I taste his fusion
delicate texture, symphonic
slashing skin; his paradoxes
blend beautifully,
unable to discard, I indulge.
