At the end of each semester, every Yeshiva College teacher distributes questionnaires and asks students to rate his performance as an instructor. And each semester, a number of student complaints always seem to surface: students are never privy to the results; many questions are silly, repetitive, or vague; certain important questions are never asked at all. We at The Commentator agree that these claims have merit, and we are also disturbed that vital school employees other than instructors -- such as administrators, security personnel, student council representatives, and newspaper editors, to name a few -- are never rated to determine student perception of their ability and achievements or lack thereof.

In an attempt to rectify the status quo, at least somewhat, we have decided to conduct an official poll of our own. We have composed the following questionnaire and ask that all Yeshiva College and uptown Sy Syms students please answer the following six questions regarding the individuals/offices mentioned below. The statistics department has informed us that to achieve a statistically valid poll, we must receive at least 100 responses. If we do not receive 100 responses, we will not print the results. If the poll is a success, it will likely become a regular Commentator feature.

To ensure the integrity of the poll (i. e., to make sure that no particular individual will have his response count more than once) we will only accept answers sent via ymail. Responses not sent via ymail will not be considered! All responses should be sent to: YCevaluations@hotmail.com. Do not send responses to The Commentator's email address. We will tally the responses and have the results for the next issue. The deadline for responding will be March 2nd.
