Students Organize Operation Torah
Shield III with Record Speed In just six days, three Yeshiva students successfully
organized Operation Torah Shield III, a solidarity mission that transported
100 Yeshiva Students to Israel for a week. The organizers planned the trip
with the specific goal of arriving in Israel on Monday, March17, the day
President Bush set as his deadline for senior Iraqi officials to relinquish
power, to express their solidarity with Israel. Cardozo Awards Nobel Peace Laureate
Desmond Tutu Unbeknownst to most undergraduate students, two student groups at Yeshiva’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law jointly presented Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa with the International Advocate for Peace Award. Despite Tutu’s wide renown, the presentation has been drawing significant controversy across the Yeshiva spectrum and within the broader Jewish community due to the honoree’s repeated criticism of actions of the Israeli government in recent years. the two inaugural lectures of Yeshiva’s formal commemoration of the tenth
