To
Chaos From Quandary
by Shmuel Honig
The gentle yet brilliant sun
Imbues the new house
With powerful, radiant glory
Still, memories of darkness,
Shadows clad in torment,
Frequent the quiet serenity
Peering through the window
Reveals ominous clouds
Lingering above in the distance
The birds afar have been silenced
The still flowers have been faded
Quiet screams apprehension
But the light inside the shelter
Permeates, it seems, so strongly
Flushing, flooding that beyond
Abandoning, ignoring
The shade is lowered
Upon the other world in the distance
Deaf to all but here
As noise erupts out there
To chaos from quandary
Violent gusts roam freely
Toward the grand, proud structure
As it remains in dormant ecstasy…
Now ravaged to rubble from radiance
To chaos from quandary
Left to languish in the distance. ♦
