In Memoriam – Abba Eban

On November 17, Abba Eban passed away. His name should be familiar to all Yeshiva students. Many Americans support the candidacy of Binyamin Netanyahu for Prime Minister because of his ability to present the opinions of Israel to the international community. This skill was pioneered by Abba Eban. In fact, Netanyahu himself called Eban “the founding father of Israeli diplomacy.”


Shaliach Aliyah to Make Weekly Campus Visits

As part of the “Israel Mania” festivities of Thursday, November 14, the Yeshiva University Israel Club hosted its Aliyah kickoff event with Shaliach Aliyah Iddo Katz.  Roughly forty students squeezed their way into a small classroom in Furst Hall to hear Katz speak about the process of moving to Israel and the practical implications of doing so.  Among the topics he touched upon were immigrant tax benefits, immigrant custom laws and general information about acculturation into Israeli society.
